If you are scrolling here, you might be struggling with emotional hardship and/or psychological pain in the form of anxious or depressed feelings, stress, loneliness, difficulty coping, grief, etc. I have found myself in those shoes at different times in my life; searching for someone capable and kind who would be able to support me.
In my experience, it was invaluable to have a therapist who, besides being experienced and skillfull, was warm and personable and able to really meet me.
I wish to offer such service for my clients. I have worked for many years in various public health roles and over 12 years in private practice.
Navigating life is complex.
Psychological symptoms often occur as a result of overwhelming experiences that have happened, even very long ago.
My aim in therapy is to help you start making sense of your life and provide a safe space to heal and grow. I work with many modalities and have extensive training in resolving (the effects of) trauma through EMDR.
If you choose to 'work' with me, I will be curious about you and how the issues that you struggle with have developed. I want to learn about your strengths and resources. We will come to a plan of approach together to support you best and we will reflect on our progress regularly.
Body and mind are not seperate: I use mind- and body (somatic) techniques.
My approach is attachment-based and trauma-focused.
I have specialized in EMDR and I make use of many other tools I have gathered through my professional and personal life:
e.g. Gestalt, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Parts Work, Mindfulness, Interpersonal Therapy, The Work of Byron Katie.
Specialties: Trauma and PTSD, Bereavement, Addiction, Autism and ADHD, Depression and Anxiety.
I see individuals age 18 and over.
Full fee: $220 for a standard individual consultation.
Medicare: Rebates range from $27.95 to $82.95, or bulk billed when necessary.
Healthy Minds- Open Arms- and Victim Services clients do not have any gap payments.
Private insurance: check your fund. NDIS possibility.
